Over time I had left out this aspect of the file (my free time is less and less...) and now the wrong descriptions were really too much!
To do this I mainly used the MDE application of a motoschifo (Mame Dat Editor). Here is the procedure:
1. Import messinfo.dat in MDE.
2. Export the information in .cvs format (which I then convert to .xls).
3. Import the list into an Access database where, previously, I also imported the last MESS .xml (using xml2mdb).
4. I create queries to compare the correctness of the "description" field.
5. I correct, always using MDE, the wrong fields.
6. I try, comparing the MESS .xml, the version in which the descriptions have been changed and I report it in the file.
The work is a lot, but at the end (I'm missing about 280 devices) my file will be much more precise. Obviously from the next update I will not forget these changes.
In questi giorni ho iniziato la correzione delle descrizioni delle macchine ma, soprattutto, dei device.
Nel tempo avevo tralasciato questo aspetto del file (il mio tempo libero è sempre meno...) e ora le descrizioni sbagliate erano davvero troppe!

6. Cerco, confrontando gli .xml MESS, la versione nella quale le descrizioni sono state cambiate e la riporto nel file.
Il lavoro è tanto, ma al termine (mi mancano circa 280 device) il mio file sarà estremamente più preciso. Ovviamente dal prossimo aggiornamento non tralascerò più queste modifiche.
